Tara Rankin
Meet Tara
I grew up in Ohio, graduating from Ohio State University and went on to work as an auditor and consultant at a Big Four Accounting Firm. Here I earned my CPA license while gaining experience in a wide variety of business and nonprofit settings. Seeking sunshine and warmth, I moved to southern California and accepted a position as Professor of Accounting at a liberal arts Christian college, where I met my husband. I loved teaching and preparing my students for their careers while taking a personal interest in their lives. Five years later, my husband accepted a job in Northern California where we moved with our 4 month old daughter. Over the next 23 years, I was the Controller/CFO of a growing and eventually 3 campus church. I then accepted my current CFO position at another local church, helping them improve processes and build a new robust accounting system to accommodate their large fitness, tennis and swim Community Center, Preschool, After School Care program and their PE program (which provides physical education to the many elementary schools in our town.) During this time, I was drawn to Grace Ministries, steeping myself in the exchanged life message through the Encounter and EDC classes I enjoyed. Since then, I have been splitting my weeks working part time as the CFO/Controller locally and as a counselor for Grace Ministries remotely.
